Are you interested in learning a new way to map out your company's goals or processes and procedures?

Let me introduce you to the art of sketch-noting! You may think sketch-noting is something just for children as they doodle on the sidewalks or come up with unique and entertaining drawings to be displayed on the fridge, but you may just as surprised as I was to learn that it's not!

I met our guest for this episode when attending The New Media Europe conference in September 2015, as his sketch notes caught the eye of many attendees with their natural beauty. Laurens Bonnema is an Agile Management Consultant and an expert in sustainably aligning business and IT to improve the results of IT projects. He also helps people (re)learn how to visualize their ideas through sketch-noting and graphic recording so they can communicate those ideas more effectively, help each other to solve problems, and have lots of fun.

I remember when I was a little girl, I loved drawing on chalk boards, or whatever paper and markers I could get hold of, and just let my imagination flow. However, since Powerpoint entered my former corporate life, I have found that I am not able to draw a thing anymore. So when I met Laurens at that conference, he piqued my interest into this new method of note-taking.

The funny thing is, nowadays many corporations hire sketch-noting experts to come to their organizations to “doodle out” their process & procedures, or whatever their next goal-setting is as a team. The result has been proven as stunningly effective especially in business communication.

However, sketch-noting is not only for corporations; it's also for entrepreneurs just like you and me. This episode not only explains how you can get started and gives insights on who to look to as examples for awesome sketch-notes; but details why sketch-notes are probably the most powerful branding strategy for your business.
